Sociedades, Sensibilidades y COVID-19: diagnósticos y proyecciones sociológicas en “tiempos díficiles”

The book under review is part of a long tradition of studies that emphasize the relationship between bodies/emotions and society. The idea of "difficult times" refers to the COVID-19 pandemic and the disruption produced by the social confinement-isolation of sociabilities in different regions of the world. Within this framework, the various chapters of the book form a common diagnosis of planetary scope. The medical recommendations and health policies implemented maintained, at a general level, a repertoire inaugurated during the pandemics of the Middle Ages. In contrast, information and communication technologies (ICT) and social networks played a decisive role. In this direction, the "reflux" of broad medical-biological narratives compiled in this book, as militarized as emotionalized, and the emotional ecologies described, trace projections on the future of our societies, on the confidence and uncertainty of the coming "hard times" and on the relevance of a sociological agenda committed to scientific knowledge and social reality.El libro reseñado se inscribe en una larga tradición de estudios que enfatizan la relación entre cuerpos/emociones y sociedad. La idea de “tiempos díficiles” hace referencia a la pandemia por COVID-19 y al trastocamiento producido por el confinamiento-asilamiento social en las sociabilidades a diferentes regiones del globo. En ese marco, los diversos capítulos del libro conforman un diagnóstico común de alcance planetario. Las recomendaciones médicas y las políticas sanitarias implementadas mantuvieron, a nivel general, un repertorio inaugurado durante las pandemias de la Edad Media. En contraste, las tecnologias de información y la comunicación (TIC) y las redes sociales jugaron un papel decisivo. En esta dirección, el “reflujo” de amplias narrativas médicas-biológicas compiladas en este libro, tan militarizadas como emocionalizadas, y las ecologías emocionales descriptas, trazan proyecciones sobre el futuro de nuestras sociedades, sobre la confianza y incertidumbre de próximos “tiempos díficiles” y sobre la relevancia de una agenda sociológica comprometida con el conocimiento científico y la realidad social.&nbsp
